About Jake
Hi, my name is Jake! I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California-Santa Barbara, making the Dean's List. In addition, I was a Physics Tutor for my college's Campus Learning Assistance Services. I have learned the principles of physics inside and out in both a classroom and a practical setting. Through my tutoring experience, I have learned what techniques and skills help students the most. Every student has unique needs and ways of learning, and I am an expert at patiently supporting all students. In my personal life, I enjoy making music, playing guitar, playing basketball, football, baseball, and ping pong.

I can teach anything from middle school kinematics to undergraduate-level electronics and magnetism. Lessons are taught using visual aids to solve homework and quiz problems step-by-step. Students will learn in-depth problem-solving techniques while also expanding their physics repertoire.
My lessons are very interactive and students are encouraged to ask as many questions as they want. I also encourage students to prepare materials from their class to work through in addition to the materials that I will bring. My goal is to teach physics fundamentals while also practicing test-taking skills.
