About Roxy
My name is Roxy originally from Newport Beach and graduated from University High School (in Orange County, California) with a 4.55 GPA. In high school, I tutored for 3 years. Now, I go to UCSD and am double majoring in comp sci/math and physics. During my junior year of high school, I took AP Calculus and AP Physics. In addition to this, I got a 36 on my ACT, and was invited to take the AIME upon scoring top 2.5% on the prestigious American Mathematics Competition. During high school I enrolled in a local college and have successfully completed Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Mechanics/Magnetism Physics, and some CS classes. I want to help high schoolers prepare for AP Physics, Precalculus, high school math, AP Calculus, competition math, and even college-level math. I could help students develop problem-solving techniques for physics and math problems to set them up for success. My rate depends on what the student needs.

I apply my abilities in computer science to make the learning experience for my clients more fun and interesting. Check out my website: roxyrahimi.com that I created this summer for a student who was struggling in algebra. I also create worksheets in LaTeX for my students. I advocate for all the children I teach, even going to their robotics competitions and mentoring them when they ask me to come. Because I have a background in competition-based math I implement the tricks and shortcuts in all my lessons making sure kids understand new topics from 2-3 different perspectives/proofs. I have tons of references.
