About Shay
Hi! My name is Shay, and I am a first year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Manchester. Throughout my GCSE's and A Levels I have always enjoyed Maths and Physics, especially the problem solving aspect and practical application which led me down the engineering route at University. I love teaching Maths in a way that teachers failed to do, helping people actually understand the subject, as I have done with many of my friends. The typical teaching system results in students solving problems by a set method without actually understanding what they're doing, and my goal is to help you grasp the reasoning behind the method so you can apply it to more difficult questions you will likely face in the future. I achieved 3A*s and an A for my A Levels, missing out on that final A* by a single mark, and therefore hope to pass on my knowledge to you and help you smash your exams.

My lessons consist of going through each topic and making sure you are confident with it, focusing more on the topics you are struggling with. I will firstly go through content before showing you an example question or two, (which will be done in front of you using a digital pen), and at the end giving you questions to work through yourself. This is because the best way to retain knowledge is practicing yourself, and I am able to guide you through it if needed. Once all topics have been covered, closer to exam season, we will do more exam-style questions until you are completely confident.
