About Alex
I've been playing cello for 9 years, primarily in classical music. My favorite performances to do are musicals and weddings. When I started college, I began teaching as a source of income but I quickly realized how much more fulfilled I felt after teaching a class and helping someone understand what they struggled with before.
I began teaching cello almost 4 years ago and then shortly after got a job at a conjunto music non-profit in San Antonio teaching music theory & literacy. A lot of the audience we served in those classes was kids and seniors, so I pride myself on being able to teach anyone of any age. Now, as am close to graduating, I need more time for my studies so I'm looking forward to tutoring online more.

Before any lesson, I may ask what's the topic you'd like to discuss so I can have examples ready for what you're trying to achieve.
In a lesson, I'll break down everything to multiple steps and in the simplest terms possible to understand. As the student demonstrates understanding we will move up in pace and terminology, I want to go to the speed the student needs.
My tutoring lessons are ideal for anyone in music theory levels 1 - 3, beginner-intermediate cellists, or anyone wanting to learn to read sheet music. All ages welcomed!
