About Maiwand

I have enjoyed teaching since GCSE where I began tutoring my brother and then moved on to being a TA at my school during sixth form.
I believe in fostering a comfortable environment and encourage my students to ask questions even if they believe it's something obvious.
I have also been a swimming teacher and a Taekwondo instructor, which has allowed me to meet and teach students of many different abilities.
I understand every student learns differently and I believe the best place for learning is one where the student has their work catered for them so that they solidify their strengths and remove the weaknesses by making mistakes and building from them.

About the lesson

My main teaching strategy is to create a foundation by first introducing content, then to test it rigorously against practice and exam-style questions, to make students comfortable with exam questions under time conditions.
Typically a lesson will last 1-2 hours but this can be flexible.
I have A-Levels in Physics, Maths and Economics and GCSEs all above a 6.
Currently studying a BSc in Data Science at the University of York.
Willing to teach at GCSE and below for Maths, Physics and Economics.
