About Zoey
I am a sophomore at USC in Los Angeles, California. I am a Biochemistry major with a minor in musical studies, and I have worked as an ambassador for a tutoring company where I tutored Geometry and Algebra. I also have experience tutoring high school chemistry. I enjoy collaborating with students and creating a safe environment to ask questions and learn. I know how frustrating it can feel to not understand a subject right away, so I have a lot of patience and encouraging words to share with students.

It can be difficult to learn when you feel that what you are learning about does not apply to you or the world around you. Math is all around us, and it becomes a lot more enjoyable when it can be related to someone and the things they enjoy. What I like to emphasize in my lessons is asking questions. I help students formulate questions in a way that conveys their misunderstanding and confusion so that they may receive answers that clarify, not confuse them further. I am a student who asks many questions, so I am very patient and understanding. I will not move on to a new subject until a student feels comfortable performing a problem independently, and I will demonstrate problems as often as I need to without question. I am excited to collaborate with students and find learning styles that work best for their success.
