About Emily
Hiya I'm Emily an undergraduate at University of Oxford studying Biomedical Sciences. I'm a keen scientist who has a particular interest in biological systems and pathologies, I undertook Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English Literature at A Level. Whilst my main area is science, I have a real passion for literature and still continue to study it in my spare time.
Outside of studying I love sports such as running and gym as well as skiing and rowing. I love playing the guitar and piano, and sing in a choir each week.

My general teaching style is personalised to the student. I use visual techniques such as diagrams and flow charts to break down complex information, and I focus on building strong conceptual understanding before consolidating it with practice questions of varying difficulty.
Whilst the subject knowledge is important, understanding how to successfully answer exam questions is another thing! I recognise that students learn in different ways, so before delving straight into topics I begin by identifying what they find challenging and tailoring our approach accordingly. I’m patient, supportive, and happy to work at whatever pace suits the student best.
Lessons are for A Level/GCSE students in Maths, Biology or Chemistry, for a range of abilities.
A lesson with me will be either an hour or an-hour-and-a-half, depending on what the students requests.
I have A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English Literature, all A*-A. As well as GCSEs all 9-7, with 9s in Maths and all three sciences. Also have an enhanced DBS check.
