About Jacob
I study at Trinity College, at the University for Cambridge, aiming to learn my third language. I have been fluent in Spanish since the age of 14, and have continued to uphold my knowledge with consistent practice and immersion. I aim to give fun and yet very effective lessons, as I understand that language learning can be a daunting task. However, having been subject to many language learning techniques - at school and here at Cambridge - I feel qualified to know which are most effective.

With language, I believe that immersion is the best way to teach a language, and I aim, where appropriate, for an approach that separates the student from the textbook and tries to encourage a more natural grasp for language that is beneficial in exams for some spontaneity. However, if there is a particular curriculum to be taught then I also can opt for that.
For History, I want the lessons to be as engaging and interesting as possible; it is such an interesting subject when engaged with in the right way! I want us to attack broad thematic questions without getting too bogged down by the dates and statistics, which are best learned in other ways.
