About Anjana
I always encourage my students to build their confidence. I suggest practice problems so they see that they can use the same steps to resolve similar problems. I am detailed oriented, so I write out the solving process and then I have them repeat it back to me and rewrite it in their own words. This enables them to use multiple senses which as studies show will increase the amount of information they will retail. I reassure them that together we can solve the problems.

I start with the concept and level that the student is currently on. I evaluate their learning technique. I break down the concept to details so they understand the underlying principles. I give them specific steps to follow to find the answer to the problems. On word problems, I have my students underline, circle, and highlight the given information and what they are needing to find to answer the particular question. Often I turn the tables and have the student give me problems so they are empowered to look for mistakes and instruct me in the proper solving method. I provide homework sets to give them extra practice on similar problems. I continually encourage my students along the way.
