About Alexa
I am dedicated to euphonium and I am a current euphonium performance major at Illinois State University where I study and perform at a high level. I provide structured, goal-oriented lessons while tailoring my instruction to each student's individual needs and learning style. As a performer and educator, I strive to create a supportive and professional environment where students feel encouraged to grow, take on challenges, and develop their unique musical voice.

In home, encouraging adaptive and engaging lessons. My lessons structure is scaffolded to build skills step by step. Hands on and performance-based while balancing a focus on technique and expression. I use a supportive student-centered approach, emphasizing strong fundamentals, tone development, and musical expression. A typical lesson plan would consist of a check in to address any struggles/ set a focus for the lesson, warm up, possible long tone duets for intonation, scales, and repertoire which could include band music, solos, or audition pieces. I like to provide a positive, low-pressure environment and intend on adapting to each student. I understand what it's like to be a current student musician, my teaching is relatable and current! My lessons are for any students middle - high school range.
