About Rebecca
Hello! My name's Rebecca and I'm currently a fourth-year student studying French and Russian at the University of Oxford.
I've been through the whole British school system myself (11+, GCSEs, 16+ school applications, A-Levels and the Oxford application process). I got 10 A-stars at GCSE (8/9 nowadays), two A-stars and an A at A-Level and am now an academic scholar at university.
Having been through all those exams and put in the revision for them, I've learnt a lot about what helped and what didn't, and would love to share my tips and tricks with others.

Hi! I'm Rebecca, a 21 year old student currently studying at Oxford. Having been through the British school system I feel like I really know what's expected of students at all levels. I'm very happy to teach for
- the 11+ process which I remember being so competitive growing up in London.
- GCSEs. I was lucky enough to get 10 A-stars (equivalent to 8/9 in the new grading system) when I sat mine and feel like I've got lots of tips and tricks to share. In my experience, teachers changing, large classes and many others factors could make some subjects at school seem so much scarier and more confusing that they really ought to be at GCSE level - having someone sit down with me and calmly clarify things was so helpful when I was preparing for the exams. I hope that I can do the same as a tutor.
- A-Level French. I got an A star in French A-Level and now study French at a much higher level at uni so feel very confident in tutoring French A-Level. I am very happy to help with grammar, writing and oral preparation.
- Oxbridge/ MLAT preparation. The Oxbridge application is a very specific and very demanding one. I'm very happy to share my tips for the process from general personal statement help, MLAT (modern language aptitude test) prep and interview practice. With the personal statement deadline in early October, the summer is the time to start reading for the personal statement and start thinking about the entry tests!
If I were to tutor you, I'd like to know which exam board you are doing so that we don't miss anything from the curriculum, would prepare in advance and make sure to address any particular areas of difficulty in more depth until it all makes sense.
