About Aarnav
I am currently studying physics at Imperial College London, and I achieved this position using the same methodology I teach with; to focus on understanding of the subject first and foremost. I also achieved 3 A*s (maths, physics, computer science) and one A (further maths) for my A-levels. I have prior experience teaching over COVID lockdowns and to friends on topics they didn't understand, and thoroughly enjoy the experience. Beyond my years of experience helping my peers, I've also got 3 years of tutoring experience since covid, ranging from primary to A-levels, and I've helped students get into competitive Russell group university courses.

My teaching style primarily focuses on building understanding of the topics at hand, in order to build a solid foundation; this helps in reducing the amount of time it's necessary to revise and review the topic at a later date (or for an exam). I also offer specific exam orientated classes, where I review the exam technique which would most reliably, and efficiently, improve student results. The lessons are generally 1 hour long and are split into 3 sections: 1. I test the student's knowledge and understanding on the topics covered in the previous lesson, and work through any questions that have arisen since then. 2. I guide the student through a set of questions pertaining to the new topics I am teaching that lesson, explaining the steps taken along the way, and why they are made. (in subjects like physics and computer science where processes cannot be intuitively derived and there are areas which require memorisation, I first give a brief overview of the processes involved and the knowledge to be memorised) 3. The student is then set some tasks to test their understanding of the topics taught in the lesson, where I encourage them to lay out their thought process to aid in the review of these tasks at the end of the lesson.

Aarnav identified where my weaknesses lay, and helped me tackle them in a constructive manner and develop a constructive understanding in the maths he taught me. My performance in class and exams certainly improved as a result! I'd highly recommend him to all ages.
