About Lara
Hello! My name is Lara and I am an Undergraduate International Disaster Management and Humanitarian Response and Spanish Student at the University of Manchester. I have deferred from my studies for a year in order to gain work experience, before returning to university to finish my final year. I am passionate about language learning and look forward to the opportunity to share this passion with you! I am working on solidifying my knowledge of the Spanish language at a C1 level during this working year and Italian at a B1 level. I hope to hear from you soon!

Lessons will be an hour long (inclusive of a five minute break) and will be instructed in a mix of English and Spanish. Focus of the lessons will depend on the individual's current level of Spanish language and the exam board chosen by their school for the GCSE. I will provide the student a past paper/test paper suitable for their key stage, which they will be expected to complete to the best of their ability ahead of our first meeting. In our first lesson we will discuss the areas in which the student wishes/needs to improve as we mark the paper together, and I walk them through the correct grammar and vocabulary necessary to strengthen their linguistic competency. Then, together with the learner I will devise a plan for the coming lessons which aim to holistically strengthen the learner's listening, reading, writing and speaking skills. Although I lack formal tutoring experience, I have helped the children of friends and family with their school work over the years. I am naturally patient and passionate about learning - languages in particular. I have years of Spanish learning experience, having studied the language at GCSE, A-Level and continuing into my current university studies. Through my knowledge of the Spanish language I have picked up conversational Italian. I hope to continue with the growth in my own language learning journey and to be able to help those at the beginning of theirs! Additionally, I have an Enhanced DBS which can be presented upon request.
