About Nathan
I have achieved A grades in maths in both GCSE and A-level, and I have always had a love for the subject. Although I didn't go straight into further education, I have found that I have used and enhanced my maths skills throughout my working life and I've seen how the subject is practical in real life not just in the classroom.
The passion for mathematics has never left me, and now that I have the opportunity, I am currently studying for my degree. I want to help others to develop the same love of mathematics and inspire them to continue learning in the subject. As I'm currently studying myself, I am aware what it is like to be a student and I am also very familiar with all the areas of maths that GCSE and A-level students need to be fluent in.
Having classroom experience too means that I deal with students in a professional manner, while also having a friendly rapport, that helps students feel at ease and generates an excellent learning environment.

I have a passion for Mathematics and have recently reviewed all the GCSE and A-Level work prior to starting my degree in the subject. I have previous experience in 1 to 1 tutoring and currently I'm working in the classroom as a cover supervisor teaching children aged 11-18, and I'm looking to tutor children of the same age. As I work in education I hold an enhanced DBS check and have undergone safeguarding training.
Lessons are typically an hour in length but can be adapted as necessary, and focus on understanding the subject and developing the skills needed to excel. I believe everyone has the ability to do well in maths and focus on helping students fulfil their potential.
Targeted assistance is used to help students where they struggle most to help them to improve their overall understanding, using a combination of worked examples and explanations of key methods and techniques.
