About Misha
Hey there, my name is Misha and I am currently an undergraduate student studying the sciences in university. I come from a strong academic background in math, physics, chemistry, and biology, which is paired with my longstanding history as a tutor (6 years).
I typically work with students aged middle school to high school, where my main goal is to help break down confusing and overwhelming topics! I absolutely believe in fostering curiosity and building students' confidence.
I am patient, encouraging, and encourage all my students to ask "why". I find it much more helpful than memorizing formulas and steps. Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. This is where I find that even I learn the most :).
Whether your goal is to improve your grades, prepare for a test, or feel less overwhelmed in class, I am here and ready to tailor my lesson to you so you learn best.

My outlook: Everyone can learn a subject, it's up to the teacher to tailor their approach. Using my past experience I understand how to connect and help students, such as those with ADHD, understand content in a way that is engaging and inspiring.
My typical lesson plan involves going over the day's homework and assignments, allowing the student to direct me to their struggles and misunderstandings. I then take typically 30-40 minutes to explain content and go through examples together (keeping it as interesting as possible :)). I always leave my students with a few videos and resources after each lesson to consolidate our lesson and have somewhere to refer for other questions until we meet again.
My expertise is in elementary to high school level content. For those currently in an Ontario secondary school, I have completed all of SCH4U, SPH4U, SBI4U with a 97% average, as well as advanced functions (MHF4U) with a 95% average and can confidently tutor anywhere up to those subjects. My current courses as an undergraduate student focus on biology, chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and statistics, where my experiences can assist YOU!
