About Jacob
Hello! My name is Jacob Ismael, and I am a first-year computer engineering major at UC Santa Barbara. I have learned how to tutor students effectively through my experience of being a tutor for several years and being a student in many of the topics on which I offer tutelage. I have tutored many students between the ages of 11-17 and have adapted strategies to build a connection fundamental for a tutor to teach a student. I believe that to master a skill, we must practice it thoroughly. As a tutor, I provide a space for students to practice their skills and not fear failure. I offer help with clarifying topics, homework, as well as test and quiz practice. I look forward to working with you!

Having worked with Jacob on multiple projects during High School, his technical expertise and tenacious problem-solving ability is second to none, which I think equips him with the technical know-how to serve as the foundation for his qualifications as a teacher. Further, both he and I have worked as Computer Science tutors and teachers for our Club during High School, in which I noticed the way he utilizes his patience, humor, and charm to make students excited to learn and grow as people.
