About Garret
I am a senior currently studying Japanese at the university level and am adept at teaching and helping you understand at the elementary level. I understand the fear and anxiety that can come with not only trying to learn a new language but as well, utilizing that knowledge when you may not be so confident about it. I am an artist by trade and as such I am very open-minded and approachable! I invite students to be a part of a relaxed and neutral setting where they can practice their knowledge without the fear of failure.

I can teach the elementary/beginner level of Japanese. I use the Genki 1 textbook which is not only a great resource for those with prior experience, but is very affordable for university students like myself. With English as my native language I can understand and explain without any confusion. And last but not least, I am immensely passionate about teaching and learning the Japanese language; which not only benefits myself, but you as well!
A typical lesson might include:
• Listening and reading comprehension practice
• Hiragana and Katakana instruction
• In depth grammar point explanation and practice
• And any other personalized learning components you would like to integrate into our lessons!
