About Kyana

Hello! My name is Kyana. I hope to be able to tutor you guys in any subject or topic you are currently not feeling confident on! In our lessons we will learn to make mistakes and learn new concepts, ideas, formulae and make sure you are on top of your work. We will form positive habits and a great attitude to learning. As your tutor, I have been in your position where I feel stressed in school and do not feel like I will ever understand what the teacher is saying.. Let's put those worries and stress into actual work and see what the problem is. Oftentimes, any student is fully capable of learning the topic it is just a case of needing a one-to-one session with a teacher who is patient and understanding of each different student's needs which is hard to access in a busy classroom of 30 kids! I hope to meet you guys and boost your grades, confidence and aptitude for learning.

About the lesson

Lesson plan: My personal approach to private teaching would consist of 1-2 hour lessons every week for 6-10 weeks. One-to-one or group session (max.3) for cheaper prices. The first session is a diagnostic session aimed at understanding the students' weaknesses and strengths. Then, using this information along with teacher notes that the school or parent could provide, a lesson plan will be made in action to suit the students' specific needs. All lessons will consist of: - A 5 minute catch-up of last week's work - 10 minutes introduction to the new topic - 35 minutes of main-focused practice and repetition, studying exam questions and correcting using the mark scheme. - 5 minutes of extension work or game activity to keep the student engaged and energised for their day. - 5 minutes of evaluation. Homework assignment or any additional activities for the student to do in their spare time. We can have bi-weekly short tests and then a larger exam test in between to report progress. School and work experience: - I studied Physics, Maths and Chemistry in A-levels. ABB grade. - And completed 9 GCSEs all 9-6 grades in 2019. Receiving 9 - Chemistry, 8 in Biology and Physics and 7 in Maths. I can assist certificates for both if needed. I also tutor younger children free tuition on the side to ensure that tuition is accessible even to those of lower socioeconomic status and so I hope to make my fees reasonably priced.

This first lesson offered with Kyana will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

Prices are justified as they include the full one hour lesson time as well as time spent on making timetable and weekly power points, gathering resources and marking the student's homework. Group tuition can be arranged if you or a parent you know would like to arrange 2:1 or 3:1 (max) groups. Webcam tutoring is much easier but if your pupil works better with one-to-one in-person session that can also be arranged depending on location.
