About Gabriela

I’m a pre-medical student at the University of Chicago, and teaching languages has always been one of my favorite parts of school. I’ve tutored Spanish and French for years, working with students of all ages and levels, and I love helping people feel more confident using a new language. I completed higher-level Spanish courses and have also passed my college’s Spanish fluency exams, so I’m comfortable supporting everything from basic skills to more advanced grammar and conversation. More than anything, I try to create a warm, patient environment where students feel supported, never judged, and excited to learn at their own pace.

About the lesson

As a Colombian Spanish tutor, I teach students of all levels and tailor every lesson to how each person learns best. With younger learners, I use interactive games, storytelling, and role‑play scenarios to make vocabulary and grammar feel fun and intuitive, while with older students I focus on refining pronunciation, strengthening listening comprehension, and analyzing songs, shows, or cultural content they already enjoy to create a personalized and engaging experience. A typical lesson includes a warm‑up, a focused skill or grammar topic, interactive practice, and a quick wrap‑up to reinforce progress. What sets me apart is my patience, my zero‑pressure approach, and my commitment to meeting students exactly where they are so they feel supported and confident. My lessons are great for kids, teens, college students, heritage speakers, and adults learning for travel, work, or personal growth. Overall, anyone who wants to learn Spanish in a warm and encouraging environment!
