About Ryan
As a first-generation college student who moved to America at 14, I faced significant challenges due to my limited English proficiency. School was difficult, and I had to find ways to catch up with my peers who already had a head start. Through this experience, I discovered various effective learning methods. As a learning assistant at UCLA, I shared these methods with my peers, witnessing their effectiveness in helping struggling students thrive. Now, I want to share these methods and help more students succeed as a tutor.

As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment for both high school and college students. I begin by assessing the student's knowledge to identify and address gaps, encouraging questions and discussions to enhance understanding. Complex topics are broken down using analogies and examples for easier comprehension. I provide practice problems and guide students through solutions, offering constructive feedback and positive reinforcement to keep them motivated. Additionally, I share effective study techniques and recommend helpful resources. My goal is to foster understanding and empower students to achieve their academic goals.
