About Mia
I am a current undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I am majoring in Health and Wellbeing Sciences on a Pre-PA track. I have always enjoyed teaching students and helping them learn and grow. I was involved in accelerated math curriculum from grades 5-12 as well as accelerated English curriculum in grades 6-8. I graduated with honors from high school while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.85, all while staying involved with work and extracurriculars. As a student, mathematics and English came naturally and I was grateful to be able to teach my peers and help them learn too. As a tutor, I ensure understanding and confidence for my students!

I believe in a calm yet firm approach to teaching! The feeling of accomplishment is one like no other and my students deserve that feeling! A typical lesson will include an introduction and a quick evaluation of the material the student is learning. I want to make sure I focus on the student's needs so we can get the most out of each session. I also believe that deadlines like tests or exams are crucial in knowing what points to focus on. During the session, I maintain efficiency and productivity by focusing on their weak points and sending them a summary of our lesson and additional practice questions! I mainly teach for elementary/middle school level math and English courses. My strong suits include but are not limited to prealgebra, algebra 1, trigonometry, grammar, and reading.
