About Naima

First and foremost, I am a student like you! After achieving A*A*AAA in my A-Levels I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Oxford. During my GCSEs and A-Levels, I had to navigate the process alone, making it more challenging than it needed to be! This experience pushed me to develop effective learning strategies, which I then began teaching to others. I discovered a real passion for teaching after witnessing my students grasp difficult concepts. Helping others succeed and easing the pressures of the challenging school system has been incredibly rewarding, and it's what drives my desire to teach:)

My lessons are for GCSE Maths and Science students in Years 9-11, particularly for incoming Year 11 students.
Depending on the needs of a student, my lessons are flexible and can vary in length. Having had experience tutoring EAL students, I understand that my teaching methodology is unique to each student.
I aim to focus on what my student is struggling with and create question packs based on this. In STEM subjects, understanding the process behind obtaining an answer is important, which is why I also give my students step-by-step solutions with their question packs.

In the lesson time, I like to start with exercises to 'warm-up' with my student before going through tasks of increasing difficulty to ensure they have mastered a topic in the session, with the question packs they are given along with solutions supplementing this.

Of course, throughout the process I create an environment in which the student feels they can ask any question and it will be answered!
