About Ashmin

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with a genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential. Having gone through the challenges of preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, and competitive entrance exams myself, I understand how important it is to have the right support and guidance. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple, clear explanations and helping students develop both subject knowledge and confidence. Teaching is rewarding to me because I love seeing the progress my students make, whether it’s achieving higher grades, feeling more confident in class, or developing a real interest in the subject. My goal is not only to help students succeed in exams but also to inspire them to enjoy learning and feel motivated to achieve their best.

About the lesson

My teaching style is interactive and tailored to each student’s individual needs, I break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps and encourage students to actively engage with the material rather than simply memorising it. For each lesson, I start by identifying the student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then build a structured plan to target those gaps. I use past paper questions, worked examples, and active recall techniques to strengthen exam skills, while also ensuring students develop a solid foundation in the core concepts. I also like to check understanding through short quizzes and discussions, which help to reinforce learning. A typical lesson will not exceed 1 hour as this is the optimum time for learning new ideas and concepts. I have strong academic experience in Biology, Mathematics, and Economics, with proven success in supporting students at GCSE and A-Level. In addition, I have experience tutoring younger learners for the 11+ Maths exam, helping them build both confidence and exam technique. My approach is adaptable, and I am comfortable working with students of different abilities, from those needing extra support to high achievers aiming for top grades.
