About Ed

Hello! My name is Ed, and I am starting as an undergraduate student at the University of Exeter in September, studying Philosophy. Whilst I specialise in philosophy, I generally specialise in Business studies, as well as helping with their extended project qualification (EPQ), personal statements, and the process of university application. This is primarily on an experience basis (I have been a Business Studies tutor for the past year and a half), but I can be highly adaptable within the subjects that I am qualified. In my free time, I enjoy playing competitive sports such as rugby, cricket and tennis, along with having an interest and experience in drama and music. My aim is to cultivate a level of enjoyment for my students' studies, so that it can take the unnecessary stressful elements of learning out of the equation, so they still have the time and ability to enjoy extracurricular activities during the midst of chaotic study periods, as I was able to do. About the lesson

My aim for tutoring is to not only aid students in understanding their subjects in greater depth and help them master the art of "exam technique," but to also explore the wider reaches of their subject and to identify areas which really spark enjoyment and interest for them, which I believe is the key to success in education. I believe that every student is different, and my goal will be to get to know their various strengths and weaknesses in order to tailor the sessions to accommodate their specific needs. Identifying these areas of weakness in both knowledge and exam technique is crucial towards improving the efficiency of your learning. This was an incredibly important asset in helping me personally achieve 9 GCSEs all between the grades of 7-9, and the grades of AAB in my A levels.
