About Maryam
I am an artist starting at UAL in September for undergraduate fine art, I am thoroughly passionate about art practice and art history and want to inspire the same passion in others. I am not only interested in improving your technical skills, I am interested in improving your thinking, confidence and approach to art.

I offer a discussion-based and knowledgeable approach where confidence in your work and ideas is encouraged to help develop your self-esteem, skills and knowledge of fine art and art history. I would offer you guided advice on how to improve your work in a supported and positive atmosphere. We would cover and expand upon the basic principles of art-making to ensure that you have a solid foundation to improve your work. We would also cover art’s relationships to other fields such as philosophy, psychology, science etc., depending on your interest of themes within art to strengthen your idea generation. A lesson would typically be an hour however, this could be lengthened. I have achieved a grade 9 at GCSE and an A* at A-level for both textiles and fine art, I am going on to study Fine art at UAL. This means I have made a successful application and can therefore offer support in portfolio creation. Whether it would be organisation, formatting etc., I can offer support to GCSE and A-level students since I have high understanding of the marking criteria for fine art as well as fashion coursework or beginner level artists who are looking for informed guidance. I have experience in the professional art world through painting murals and participating in life drawing classes with other professional artists.
