My approach to tutoring is centered around understanding the why before memorizing the how. I first identify what a student already understands and where their confusion begins. From there, I break difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps and connect them to examples that feel relevant to the student. I use a combination of guided practice, visual explanations, questioning, and real-time feedback so that students are actively involved rather than simply listening to an explanation. A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material and a few questions to identify areas that need reinforcement. I then introduce the new concept by explaining the core idea and working through an example step-by-step. My goal is not just to help students finish their homework or prepare for the next test, but to help them develop the problem-solving skills and independence to eventually succeed without needing a tutor. I can tutor students ranging from elementary to high school, tailoring my lessons to them individually.
