About Muriel
I have been tutoring maths for almost 40 years. My passion is about helping students grow their confidence through understanding what they are learning. My students always comment that it is so much easier when I explain things. I also specialise in growing their confidence by encouraging questions and through endless patience when explaining.

I am currently writing my own maths book aimed at GCSE level. I send the various chapters to my students and ask them to do a little bit of work every day. That helps the brain retain the information for much longer and in the long run, requires less work to make it stick as there is less need for repeating the topic.
I have also designed my own flashcards that have been professionally printed and ensure that students can test themselves when learning various essential knowledge.
My methods are tailored to the needs of each of my students (I once explained what an angle was by using a pair of scissors). I pay particular attention to fostering confidence and want my students to enjoy our lessons together. I only want the students to be committed. No previous level required.
