About Molly
This summer I graduated from the University of St Andrews, achieving a first class degree in Mathematics. After taking maths and further maths A-levels, I spent four years at university exploring all different areas of maths, and my love of the subject grew even greater. I am planning on completing my teacher training to become a secondary school maths teacher and in the meantime, am hoping to help out as many students as to feel confident in their mathematical abilities. I understand the frustration of not understanding a topic, or the difficulty of wrapping your head around a tricky past paper question with only a mark scheme to try to explain it, and I hope to provide effective and understandable explanations to alleviate these concerns and make you feel ready to take on your exams.

Are you a GCSE or A-Level student looking to boost your maths skills? Whether you’re aiming for top grades or just need a little extra support, I’m here to help! With over 6 months' experience volunteering as a teaching assistant in high school maths lessons, and experience tutoring family and friends during lockdown, I hope to instil confidence in students' mathematical abilities and eliminate the confusion or concern regarding tricky maths questions! I tend to offer 1 or 2 hour lessons online, guided by student-suggested topics, or following the scheme that they are using at school. I usually begin the sessions with a quick assessment of the student's topic knowledge, and from this will lead them through a pre-prepared PowerPoint to explain and deepen knowledge of the topic. Then through a mixture of worked examples, student explanation of their answers and independent work, we will aim to master the topic together! I can provide tutoring sessions for ages 11-18, particularly those who are heading into exam seasons (GCSEs or A-levels) and need extra support with past papers, or specific topic areas that they are struggling with.
