Matthew has been one of Tulare County’s top performing paramedics for the last few years. He excels in both skills and book knowledge when it comes to appropriately treating all patients he comes in contact with. He is a field training officer and a paramedic preceptor for the last 3 years. All of his trainees and students come out far ahead and extremely confident with what they have learned from their time with him. He is definitely someone who I would trust to answer and questions one may have as he will answer it fully and take the time to explain the process of why or what it is. He is very calm and helps everyone better themselves as much as he can.

After completing my EMT field training, I was placed with Paramedic Matthew Mendelson. Now, 3.5 years later, after working 72-96 hours each week with Matthew I can confidently say I have learned everything I know from him. Not only does Matthew enjoy teaching, but he excels at doing so and promotes a positive learning environment. He is thorough, hands on, and allows a safe space for learning. Matthew loves giving student ride alongs, fire personnel, and his EMTs the opportunity to assist with ALS skills and is very knowledgeable with equipment. Matthew is the type of paramedic that I would trust wholeheartedly to run on my own family if they were in a time of need. Matthew not only taught me, but is also a CPR instructor, PHTLS instructor, a company FTO and a company preceptor. Because of this, and my own personal experience learning from Matthew in the last three and a half years, I believe Matthew is a trustworthy teacher.
