About Nick
Hi! I'm Nick, a graduate from the University of Cambridge and current student at the University of Toronto. I have been tutoring part-time for the last 3 years, with several of my students receiving offers to Cambridge and Toronto. My teaching style focuses on showing students new ways to solve difficult problems, and new techniques to approach unfamiliar questions. This approach is informed by my considerable experience in problem-solving techniques, in both my formal education and my personal endeavors, including numerous math competitions throughout my education. I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor, with a genuine passion for all things math! In both my formal education and my free time, I have developed a deep understanding of a wide range of topics in math, science, and engineering. This allows me to put the course material in context for my students, giving them a more comprehensive understanding. Ultimately, every student is different, and I tailor my lessons to each student's academic needs and learning style. More on my background: I am a 3rd year student in the Mathematics Specialist program at the University of Toronto, with a current 4.0 GPA. Before moving here, I received a Bachelor's in Engineering from Queens' College, Cambridge in 2022 with a 2.1, and from a Canadian IB school in Hong Kong in 2019 with a 43/45. Apart from math, I enjoy hiking, cooking, and learning languages.

I teach mostly students in Grade 11-12, though I am keen to help younger students too. I help my students better grasp these concepts, with lots of guided problem-solving and real-world examples.
My lessons often involve revisiting difficult concepts, practicing problem-solving techniques, and learning new ways to tackle problems. I often use real-world examples to lend clarity to difficult concepts. However, every student is different, and my teaching style is flexible based on their individual needs.
