About Henry
Hi there! I am a recently graduated tutor, specialising in maths that would love to help you/your children, and share my passion for learning with you! I really enjoyed and excelled in maths at school, so I went on to study it at University of Cambridge, where I graduated from last summer with a BA and a Master's degree. At A-level maths and further maths, I got 1200 out of 1200 ums, so I can really help talented students eke out every mark possible! I was tutored by my grandparents when I was younger, so I really know what makes a good tutor as well as the impact an inspiring tutor can have.
Outside of maths, I am a super-keen sportsman. I pretty much enjoy watching/playing all sports, but I also do it as a job. I am a full-time modern pentathlete based in Bath, training to hopefully compete at the 2024 Olympics!

I find that starting each session with a quick recap and a few questions about what was covered in our last session really helps to embed each topic in a student's mind. I then like to set an achievable learning goal or topic to cover for the session, as this focuses the lesson and creates a sense of accomplishment upon completion. I have a range of text books, from KS3 level to A-level that I use to help me prepare questions for each session. I like to use a mixture of explaining the theory of a topic at an appropriate pace, worked examples, and seeing how the student handles a few questions on his own at the end of a lesson to help the student learn, and really understand, what we cover in each lesson.

He helped me all the way through my maths uni degree so he’s pretty good at all levels of maths. I’d still say I’m better though.
Henry is inspirational - he has a clear love of Maths, having graduated from University of Cambridge, and can explain it clearly whatever level he is teaching. He has a knack of making it fun too!
