About Maggie
Hi there! My name is Maggie, I am 24, and enjoy tutoring English, History and Sociology! I am a postgraduate law student at the University of Cape Town and I have a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree majoring in Law, Industrial Sociology and English Literary Studies. In addition to this, I also have a TEFL certificate which qualifies me to teach English as a foreign language. I enjoy helping people and participating in various community projects when I can. I enjoy tutoring as I understand the value of having extra support. I also understand the fact that as individuals we sometimes need things to be taught in a different way that best suits our needs which is why I try my best to ensure students are provided with additional audio or visual materials used beyond the core source material - plus this makes learning more fun! I expect students to always be respectful and communicate any concerns they may have and my students in turn can expect that I will also respect them and be professional. My ultimate goal is to provide a calm, attentive and fun tutoring experience which will give students the confidence to perform to the best of their abilities but also to enjoy what they are learning!

I conduct online classes in English for students studying for Cambridge O Level, A level and undergraduate university English and Sociology courses. I expect students to participate and communicate their understanding or concerns as we go through this tutoring and students can expect to be provided as much support as possible to help them reach their academic goals. I like to use various audio and visual resources to enhance learning and assist students of different learning styles.
