About Brandon
I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Chicago with a double major in Mathematics and Economics, with a concentration in Computer Science. I currently work as a software engineer and data scientist, building predictive models and working with Python and statistical methods daily.
Before this, I worked as a researcher at UChicago Booth, applying causal inference and statistical analysis to large datasets. I combine strong academic foundations with real-world experience, which means I can help students not just memorize formulas but actually understand the reasoning behind them. I'm patient, I adapt to each student's pace, and I genuinely enjoy making tricky concepts click.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Chicago with a double major in Mathematics and Economics, with a concentration in Computer Science. I currently work as a software engineer and data scientist, so I bring both academic depth and real-world experience to every lesson.
My approach starts with understanding where you are and what's not clicking. I don't lecture — we work through problems together, building intuition first before formalizing the concepts. I find that most students who struggle with math aren't lacking ability, they just had a key idea explained poorly somewhere along the way. My job is to find that gap and fill it.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on what you're working on or preparing for, then we dive into problems together. I adjust on the fly based on what I'm seeing — if you're getting it, we move faster. If something needs more time, we slow down and approach it from a different angle. I always leave time at the end to make sure you feel confident tackling similar problems on your own.
I tutor calculus, statistics, and algebra at the high school and college level, as well as SAT and ACT math prep. I'm a strong fit for students who want to actually understand the material rather than just memorize steps, and for anyone preparing for exams who wants a structured, efficient approach to studying.
