About Leonardo
After graduating high school from the American School of São Paulo, one of the most prestigious high schools in the country, I was accepted and currently study at the University of Chicago. I have served as a Teaching Assistant in the Portuguese Department, and worked with students learning Portuguese as a second language who are both native English and Spanish speakers.

Growing up in Brazil, Portuguese is not just my native language; it is one of my greatest passions. I too had to learn Portuguese, having actually moved to Brazil from the US at 8 years old. I went from not speaking a word to now having two distinct mother tongues. My experience learning Portuguese, combined with the frequency and exposure I have had to speak in the last 15 years living in Brazil make me the perfect teacher. I can easily relate to native English speakers as my English is also fluent, meaning the perfect combination for anyone learning at any level.
