About Sofia
Hello! My name is Sofia. I am currently a student at the University of Florida. I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA, and I specialize in tutoring mathematics. I am well-versed in tutoring elementary and middle school children, in multiple math subjects. have been tutoring for 4 years now and it's truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. As a tutor I exhibit traits of empathy, enthusiasm and patience. I find it important to understand what it’s like to be a student who may lack confidence in difficult areas and to empathetically work through these allowing students to be comfortable learning material. I have great enthusiasm for the subjects I tutor in and constantly exhibit a positive attitude that will rub off on students. Patience is a key trait of a tutor, allowing the student to not be put under pressure. Throughout lessons I strive to encourage independence, allowing the student to benefit from their tutoring, while also offering independent strategies to be more effective learners.
A typical lesson plan would be adaptable to a student's specific learning style. Each lesson will correlate with the previous, allowing for a student to learn from repetition. I specialize in teaching elementary and middle school level mathematics.
