About Nehatul

I’m a Computing Science student at the University of Glasgow, where I entered directly into second year after demonstrating the knowledge and academic preparation required to progress beyond first year.

I have over 2 years of experience tutoring Computer Science and Python programming, working with students of different abilities and helping them build both their understanding and confidence. I particularly enjoy taking topics that initially seem complicated and finding a simple, intuitive way to explain them.

As someone who has recently gone through GCSE and A Level Computer Science myself, I understand the challenges students face and the difference that having the right explanation can make. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy programming and working on my own software projects, which allows me to bring practical experience into my lessons. I’m passionate about Computer Science and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with my students.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Nehatul, a Computing Science student at the University of Glasgow with over 2 years of experience tutoring GCSE and A Level Computer Science and Python programming.

I have a strong academic background in Computer Science and was able to enter the University of Glasgow’s Computing Science degree directly into second year, skipping first year due to my existing knowledge and experience in the subject. This has given me a particularly solid foundation across both the theoretical and practical sides of Computer Science.

I genuinely enjoy teaching and helping students go from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling confident in their ability. My approach is friendly, patient and tailored to each student. Rather than simply giving students answers, I break challenging concepts down into manageable steps and guide them towards understanding the problem and solving it themselves.

For GCSE and A Level students, I can help with understanding difficult topics, improving programming skills, preparing for exams and working through past-paper questions. I focus on helping students understand *why* something works rather than relying purely on memorisation. I can also help students develop effective exam techniques and avoid common mistakes.

For Python programming, lessons are practical and hands-on. Students will have plenty of opportunities to write code themselves, work through problems, debug programmes and gradually build the confidence to tackle projects independently.

I currently tutor alongside my university studies and have built over 2 years of tutoring experience. Having recently studied these subjects myself, I understand where students commonly struggle and can explain difficult ideas in a way that is clear, relatable and easy to follow.

Lessons are typically 1 hour long, with longer sessions available if needed. I teach everyone from complete beginners through to GCSE and A Level students, adapting each lesson to the student’s ability, goals and pace.

My goal is not simply to help students get through an exam, but to help them genuinely understand Computer Science, become confident problem-solvers and develop skills they can carry forward into further education and programming.
