About Irina
I am Dr. Irina Kisielowa, a university lecturer in Russian and Slavonic Studies, an experienced teacher of Russian as a foreign language, and an award-winning literary translator with more than 25 years of professional experience.
My lessons combine clear explanations of grammar with practical speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, and cultural context. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s level, interests, and goals. A typical session includes a short conversation warm-up, focused work on new language material, practice with authentic texts or audio, and guided speaking with detailed feedback.
What sets my teaching apart is my ability to explain not only what Russian expressions mean, but also how they are actually used in real communication. I work with beginners, advanced learners, university students, academics, translators, and professionals who want to speak more naturally and understand Russian culture, literature, and communication style.
