About Tabby
I am a prosthetist by background, meaning that I design and fit prosthetic limbs for amputees. Having done this role in the NHS for close to a decade, I wanted to try something new, so jumped into teaching prosthetics!
My teaching role covers biomechanics, focussing particularly on the science of human gait. This involves teaching GCSE level maths and physics concepts such as trigonometry, algebra, forces and turning moments, energy, work and power, linear and angular motion - and so on! Many of my students come from non-STEM backgrounds, so I find ways to make these concepts accessible to absolute beginners.
I am also neurodivergent (autistic and ADHD); I love working with neurodivergent students like me, and I often find that we can have unique ways of looking at a problem that mainstream teaching doesn't always know how to manage. I believe in finding ways to work with, and not against, different brains.
