About Joseph
Hi! I’m a Mathematics student at the University of Leeds and, unsurprisingly, I spend a lot of my time doing maths!
I know maths can sometimes feel confusing or frustrating, especially when it’s taught too quickly in class. I enjoy finding simpler ways to explain difficult ideas and helping students have that “oh, I get it now!” moment.
As a current university student, I aim to make lessons feel relaxed and approachable rather than like another hour of school. I’m friendly, patient and happy to explain something as many times — and in as many different ways — as needed.
I speak both English and Mandarin Chinese, and I’m based in Leeds.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual level and goals. I focus on helping students understand the key concepts behind GCSE Maths rather than simply memorising methods.
We can work through difficult topics, homework, exam-style questions and past papers together. I will also help students identify their weaker areas and improve their problem-solving and exam techniques.
Lessons are friendly and flexible, and can be taught in either English or Mandarin Chinese. I am happy to support students at both Foundation and Higher level, whether they are looking to build confidence, improve their grades, or prepare for upcoming exams.
