About Jhanvi
I'm a second-year Industrial Economics student at the University of Nottingham, a Russell Group university, and I genuinely love teaching. I've been through GCSEs and A-Levels myself not too long ago, so I remember exactly how overwhelming they can feel, and I know what actually helps versus what just adds more stress.
I took Economics, Biology and English at A-Level, so the subjects I tutor aren't ones I've just read up on, they're subjects I've lived. English Literature is probably my biggest passion; there's something really rewarding about helping a student go from feeling lost with a text to writing an analysis they're actually proud of.
I speak five languages, which I think makes me a more instinctive communicator, I'm good at finding different ways to explain something until it clicks.
I'm a patient, calm tutor and I don't believe in making students feel silly for not knowing something! Every lesson is relaxed but focused, and I always work around what the student actually needs rather than a fixed plan.

I'm a second-year Industrial Economics student at the University of Nottingham, and I tutor primary school pupils right through to A-Level students across a wide range of subjects. My lessons are tailored entirely to the individual, I start by identifying exactly where a student is struggling, then build from the foundations up rather than jumping straight into exam technique. I'm a big believer in making sure concepts are actually understood rather than just memorised, which makes a real difference come exam time.
For English Literature especially, I love helping students find their own voice in their analysis rather than just reproducing a formulaic response, it's the subject I'm most passionate about and that enthusiasm comes through in lessons.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes, though I'm flexible around shorter sessions for younger primary pupils. I teach entirely online via Google Meet, so sessions fit easily around school schedules and my own university timetable.
I cover primary core subjects, 11+ preparation, GCSE English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, as well as A-Level Economics. With 11+ exams coming up very soon, I'm particularly focused on helping Year 5 and 6 pupils build speed and confidence ahead of their assessments.
