About Michael
Hey there! My name is Michael and I am super friendly person who absolutely loves teaching students of all abilities.
Back in school I achieved Excellence in all Biology, Chemistry and Physics level 1-3, as well as level 1 Maths. These are the subject areas I tutor. Before university, where I completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons first class), I also sat and got NCEA Biology scholarship.
Outside of tutoring and study I really enjoy the outdoors and sports, especially tennis, surfing, skiing, diving and mountain-biking. I also love music and play (but not teach) guitar.

As someone who has been through the NCEA system, I know it well, and I especially understand the stress that comes towards the end of the year when external exams loom ahead! I love helping students to break these intimidating tests down step by step to help achieve the grades that they strive for.
Typically I get students to send me through questions/areas that they are struggling with before the session so I can prepare and plan my lesson. I am also happy to work through questions together or explain concepts that you may find tricky. I often find giving students something to work on in between sessions is highly beneficial to their learning.
