About Charlie
What draws me to tutoring is seeing the shift in a student when things start to click — something I love to experience myself, but appreciate all the more when helping my students to realise it for themselves. I’m naturally patient and good at breaking things down without making people feel like they’re being talked down to. Having parents with 50 years of combined experience has helped me learn to value consistency, encouragement, and helping students find a way of working that actually suits them, not just what they think they “should” be doing. For me, tutoring is about building trust, showing up with energy, and helping students feel in control of their own progress, which in turn strongly correlates to stellar academic results, and more importantly, a rewarding sense of pride in enacting them.

As a University of Oxford offer holder with top predicted A-levels and outstanding GCSE results, I bring both deep subject knowledge and recent, firsthand exam experience. I understand what it takes to excel in the current format of Public Examinations, an advantage of having sat my exams under the new, reformed syllabi, (in 2023 and 2025 respectively). As the founder of my school’s “Booster Revision Club”, and having worked with pupils ages 13-18, I can accurately tailor my teaching to each student's unique learning style.
