About Nick
I am a student at the University of Oxford studying towards a degree in physics. I have A Levels in Physics, Maths, Further Maths, and Chemistry, as well as twelve GCSEs. I am very familiar with the school system, particularly the knowledge and specific exam technique required for GCSE and A Level exams. Within schools, I have worked in GCSE and A Level classes to support whole-class teaching and help individual students on a one-to-one basis. This has involved working both with students who found the subject very challenging and with students who aren't being challenged enough! I am also a seasoned private tutor with hundreds of hours of experience. I have taught students on a one-to-one basis as well as in larger groups. In my role as a Mathematics Instructor at Mathnasium, I worked with a wide range of students (age 6 to 16). I adapted my teaching style effectively to a wide variety of ages, needs, and academic levels. As a self-employed private tutor, I've helped students unlock their potential and secure the GCSE and A Level grades they deserve. I have an enhanced DBS certificate.

I love teaching maths and physics to students of all abilities. I want lessons to work for each individual student. I recognise that there is no successful, one-size-fits-all model of tuition: everyone learns differently! For all students, the first session would involve discussing where you are currently in your academic journey, what you hope to get out of tutorials, and what goals you have (be those exams or personal targets). For students who are finding work challenging in school, I can work with you to identify on which areas to focus. We can make a plan together of what you would like to achieve and how I can support you to reach your goals. I am happy to design our lessons around your schoolwork or from scratch based on the topics we decide to cover. By explaining things clearly and simply, starting from where you are right now, I can help you to build up your knowledge and skills to the level you want to attain. I also enjoy working with students who are excelling in their subject or don't feel challenged by the work that they are set in school. I can provide and discuss extension topics and questions to build deeper understanding or widen your knowledge of new topics. I teach physics and maths (and further maths) at any stage up to and including A Level.

Nick is an exceptionally able sixth form student at the school I work at, and has been incredibly supportive helping in my year 10 physics classes.
Nick is patient with the students he helps, and explains things in a clear and accessible way.
I recommend Nick as a Maths and Physics tutor.I know Nick through school and he has been helping me with work related to physics and maths since the start of GCSEs and now through into A Levels. He’s incredibly smart, but also clear and able to listen to and understand whatever you’re struggling with, giving precise and helpful advice without just telling you what to do. In over two years, he has never failed to make me understand a topic. Nick is patient, kind, and never patronising, and I thoroughly recommend him as a tutor.
Nick has tutored me for my maths and physics GCSEs. He has helped me to understand challenging concepts and prepare effectively for exams, which has allowed me to achieve high grades and keep on top of my work in these subjects.
