About Juan
Hi! My name is Juan Boettner, and I graduated from the University of Richmond in 2012. I discovered my passion for teaching when I took a teaching assistant job in college. Right after college, I took a job in the corporate world, but quickly realized I wanted to go back to working with students. I've been tutoring full-time since 2013, and I love what I do! I help students of all ages do their homework, study for quizzes/tests, prepare projects, and even write essays/papers. Math is my forte, but I really do a bit of everything! This is what makes tutoring so fun to me. In one day I might offer feedback on a 5-paragraph essay, go through a trigonometry study guide, review the cell cycle, and discuss the coordinate plane. Some tutors, especially those with more advanced degrees, may see tutoring as an unimportant/temporary side gig, but I give my students the utmost respect and undivided attention they deserve. Tutoring is my only full-time job, I am very reliable, and my students are my top priority. When I'm not working, I'm usually lifting weights, listening to a current events podcast, walking on the beach, or eating an almond croissant :)

I am flexible with my types of lessons and am always thinking about how to best help each one of my students. I never impose a lesson plan or study method, but rather listen to my students and their parents to deliver exactly what they need. I genuinely enjoy teaching and want to see my students learn and succeed! I am very flexible about meeting times and days, working in the mornings, afternoons, evening, and weekends! Whatever you need, let's work it out! My only ask is that we do it remotely (Zoom, Skype, etc..)
