About Oly

Professionalism when tutoring is something that is very important and should not be overlooked. It is key to ensuring a child feels safe when being taught and this aids in helping them learn without having to worry about anything else.
I achieved an A grade in maths during GCSE and now do Accounting and Finance as my degree. Maths has always been a very prevalent subject in my life and I can vouch that I am aware of the challenges it can present and how to navigate around them.
I have taught several kids and have also been that student who had a tutor (several). The right tutor can make a student more confident in their abilities but the wrong kind of approach can break a student as well. I hope to inspire confidence in all my students, which they can hopefully carry forward into further studies or the workplace.

About the lesson

As a student myself, I teach in a patient and engaging manner. I understand the pressures associated with getting things right, especially in maths. I aim for all my students to develop a love for Maths and a greater self-esteem.
I am also aware of the challenges presented to Primary School students not just high-schoolers. For the very young, maths can seem extremely difficult and my goal is to help navigate them through the subject in a way specific to each student.
The typical length of my lesson would be one hour, but depending on the student and their availability this can vary.
These lessons will be for the subject of Mathematics for any student in the Years 1-10 (UK) or equivalent.
The lessons will be in English, but I can speak Tamil and Hindi should a student need to feel more comfortable.
