After introducing you to basic finger skills and techniques (scales and such), I will begin to show you how to read sheet music, including notation, names and scale circles. The first lesson would be finished up with an introductory piece that you can take home to keep studying.
Now, keep in mind that playing piano on a decent level does not happen over night, so you will have to put effort into studying and understanding my teachings. You will receive the tools and ideas of what to do and how to do it, but ultimately it is up to you how fast and how much further we can proceed in this class.
As you have gotten to understand the basics, we will start playing gradually more skilled songs and keep on working on technique. If there is a specific direction you want to head to genre-wise, you are more than welcome to make suggestions.
After playing classical piano for about 15 years I've been getting approached by friends to teach them the basics. Over time, I started getting more and more involved into teaching to a point where I actually got paid. With my extensive knowledge about understanding and playing sheet music, I am not only able to teach you how to use the instrument, but hopefully wake your interest and passion towards the beautiful tunes you can generate with a piano :)
