About William
My name is William Shi. I am a 1st year student studying Honours Mathematics program at University of Waterloo. I am passionate to pass down my knowledges in math onto students and provide them the necessary tool to help them achieve academic goals. My lessons will take place via Instagram or discord call. My lessons are designated for students currently enrolling in Grade 12 Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors. Unlike other tutors, I can inspire students to enjoy the course they are learning and break down abstract concept into something that is understandable to students. My typical teaching method is to get students to have at least 5-10 questions ready at least 2 days prior to the tutoring sessions with upcoming test/exam preparations, problems they are working on for homework or in-class problems, or any materials they are confused with. I expect that if students are working on problems, they should attempt those by themselves before getting help. For practice problems, I will point them to the concepts they actually struggle with to ensure a more effective preparations for their assessments. For homework, I will assign them more practice questions on specific area of struggles.
