About Ashwin
My name is Ashwin, I'm a hardworking passionate student who has always had a deep interest in Japanese language and culture from a young age. I used to think learning a new language was impossible for someone like me but after putting in the hard work and dedication I've come to greatly enjoy the language learning process.
My journey has not only helped me improve my language skills but also sparked a desire to share this love of Japanese with others. I’m excited to help you discover how rewarding and fun learning Japanese can be!

My lessons focus on building a solid foundation in Japanese through a balance of speaking, listening, and basic grammar or focusing on whichever my students prioritize. I use interactive activities and real-life scenarios to help keep lessons fun and engaging as consistency is extremely important for language acquisition. With my 8 years of experience as a learner I'll help you set a path to successfully learning Japanese while avoiding common pitfalls and mistakes.
Lesson Length
Each lesson typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours, giving us enough time to cover key concepts, practice, and review any challenging areas.
Qualifications/Experience
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese at university, with 8 years of experience learning and speaking the language. Although I’m new to tutoring, my passion for teaching and my deep understanding of the language will help you make steady progress.

I met Ashwin through our university Anime and Manga Club, where he was an executive member. He’s excellent at explaining Japanese language points and cultural details in a way that’s easy to understand. He’s also super patient and easy to talk to, so lessons never feel stressful. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to learn Japanese.
Ashwin is a patient and encouraging tutor. As Japanese is his second-language, he can relate to people learning because he went through the process himself. He’s able to help prep for Cambridge exams too
