About Tamara
Hi! I’m Tamara, a final-year Psychology student with a strong passion for education and working with students. I have experience tutoring and working with children, and I really enjoy helping students understand challenging topics, build confidence and reach their goals.
My Psychology degree has given me a strong understanding of learning, motivation, child development and individual differences, which I use to adapt my approach to each student. I have a broad academic background, including English, Mathematics, Biology, Business, Geography, Environmental Management, French and Arabic at IGCSE level, as well as Psychology, English Language and Biology at A-Level.
I speak English, Arabic and French, and I have also played piano and guitar. I’m patient, approachable and enthusiastic, and I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and learning from their mistakes.
I hope to pursue further study in child education and build a career supporting students, so tutoring is something I genuinely enjoy and see as an important part of my future.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual needs, level and goals. I begin by assessing their current understanding and identifying areas where they need the most support. I then plan lessons around these areas, using clear explanations, examples and practical exercises.
I encourage students to actively participate rather than simply memorising information. I use questions, practice tasks and regular recap activities to check understanding and reinforce learning. For exam preparation, I focus on exam technique, past-paper questions and timed practice to help students become familiar and confident with the format.
I also set appropriate work between lessons where helpful, allowing students to practise independently and giving me the opportunity to review their progress in the next session. I regularly track strengths and areas for improvement so that lessons can be adapted as the student develops.
Most importantly, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe building confidence and motivation is just as important as improving academic performance, and my goal is to help students become more independent and confident learners.
