About Jess
I am a university student, and absolutely loved maths throughout school! I studied all the way through school and A Levels, and a bit in university. Maths can be a challenging topic, and a lack of confidence and understanding can take away students' enjoyment. My aim in tutoring is to increase confidence, understanding of concepts, and enjoyment of the subject. I believe that a one-to-one approach is extremely valuable in succeeding in the subject. I have experience working with children in vacation day camps, and am a trustworthy, communicative and patient person. Above all, I believe a supportive environment to be the most important when learning. I will create a safe, kind, encouraging atmosphere, and be sure to challenge students to be the best they can be.

I like to offer encouragement to students, being there to give them the confidence to tackle whatever they are struggling with. In a typical lesson, I will suggest that my students inform me of the topic they would like to study, and we can work together on questions, review homework, and clarify key concepts. I am flexible in my thinking and communication, and will strive to deliver lessons and explain topics in a clear way. I am interested in building deep understanding of a topic, ensuring that it makes sense and can therefore be applied to any relevant questions and topics.

Jess is a really nice person and really good at maths and would be a really good tutor
Jess is a warm, friendly and approachable person, whose enthusiasm is infectious. She is also patient and kind, which makes her such a great tutor. Jess combines her fantastic people skills with her intelligence to provide a great service to anyone wanting to have maths tutoring.
She shows real encouragement when teaching. She brings a lot of energy within sessions and has help myself and my friends incredibly with out academic skills!! Highly recommend!
